New Who + Warped!

Dude, omg to the new Who. *spazzes out* Spoilers )

Okay, went to Warped today. Got a horrible sunburn that is quite painful, plus I managed to completely scrape my lower leg, thanks to the wonder of falling-onto-pavement-while-moshing. On the upside, it was wicked fun, and when we were walking back to the light rail station? Well, there was a train blocking our way, and it wasn't moving, so me and Julia totally climbed onto one of the cars and then off on the other side. Oh yeah. It was awesome. I fell on my ass after jumping off, mind you, but it was still awesome.

dr. ? - jelly babies

Doctor Who and primary rage.

So, I was just grabbing a banana, and as I start eating it, I immediately think, "Bananas are good!" Which in turn reminded me of when I was talking with the assistant honors director, and she said that the only French she knew was allons-y, and had to actually bite my tongue to keep from saying "Allons-y, Alonso!"

...yes, I have been permanently warped by Doctor Who, how kind of you to notice!

In other news, the whores who run Fox News have decided to preempt my RedEye in favor of repeating the news from the New Hampshire primary. Idiots. And I tried switching over to To Catch a Predator on MSNBC, and guess what? Preemption! WHORES.

I'M BACK! FROM OUTER SPACE!

So I just flew in from London, and boy are my arms tired!

Actually, my arms are one of the only things that aren't tired. But duuuude. Some things that I got that I may not have mentioned: nice little TARDIS play tent, a TARDIS key, and remote control Dalek. Yesssss.

And now, I really ought to pack up to go over to Julio's. So I'll just ask: could he pass for the 11 year old son of Marcus Flint and Millicent Bulstrode?

TW - shiny teeth!, dr. ? - shiny teeth!

TRU FAX.

So... Spoilers for Last of the Time Lords )

In other news, my mother has agreed to watch teh Torchwoodz or Doctor Whoz wid me! Sadly, all I have to pick from is most of season one of DW and season one of TW, because I have no season two DVDs yet. Sadness. I'm currently thinking Countrycide, because... well, I luff the plot, and Ianto's really hot in civvies. But I dunno! ARGH! *digs through DVDs*`

TW - shiny teeth!, dr. ? - shiny teeth!

We're Torchwood! And these are my shiny teeth!

I'm currently obsessed with three songs:

Rogue Traders - "Voodoo Child"
Scissor Sisters - "I Can't Decide"
Avril Lavigne - "Girlfriend"

Now, Doctor Who fans know why I'm obsessed with the first two. And the third... Well, don't tell anyone I told you so, but it may or may not have something to do with a certain Doctor Who video that I may or may not be making with Julio. Heh.

Doctor Who? WHAT?! Ahem. Also, sociopathy is FUN!

So, um.

SPOILERS FOR 'THE LAST OF THE TIME LORDS'!!! )

Okay, insanity break over. Back to watching a MSNBC thing about a bus full of children being buried four feet underground. And me and Julia making highly inappropriate comments. Not as bad as the comments we were making about some kidnapped-and-killed 9 year old (who looked like a cross between Jenny from our school and Andy Samberg).

Yeah, we're kind of going straight to hell. Where Satan asks us for advice on how to be complete sociopaths.

HP - party

(no subject)

This just in: Subway's new pizza is rather good. Also just in: the people working at the Tivoli Center's Subway right now? SUCK. It took them at least five minutes per person, and they didn't even seem the least bit concerned that they had a huge-ass line of people waiting. Argh. I mean, normally I don't criticize, but in this case I think even I would have been faster. And that's saying something.

(Also, visit http://www.fanfiction.net/~smrt1 for a new chapter of HP mpreg, HP/Torchwood, and TW/Crossing Jordan.)

Sigh. Am bored. Wish to blow things up. And burn things. And just... well, not be bored! Argh! And I actually have to go to math today, too, since I have to turn in my toothpick problem. *curses teh math*

Oh well. As soon as I finish downloading screencaps of "The Sound of Drums", I'll head over to Science and sit in the entrance area again. Maybe play some Sims, just to weird out people. Because that's what I exist to do. I hope we're let out early today from math... I'm just not in a math-y mood. Plus, I have to cram for my cult anthro exam (tomorrow) and geography exam (Thursday). More for geo than anthro - I do need to memorize the specific time periods and tools associated with them, but the rest of it I have down. Geography, meanwhile... yeah, let's not even think about how much I have to cram with that. (At least it's counting for three of my six required Level II General Studies - Social Studies credits. Otherwise I would be ready to kill.)

Soo... boooooored... Ahem. Perhaps I'll play my rugby game instead of Sims 2. Eh, who knows. Oh! I remember what I forgot to mention! I totally went bat-shit crazy with some of my graduation money and got a bunch of things off teh intarwebz: two bumper stickers (one says 'my other car is dimensionally transcendental' with a picture of the TARDIS; the other says 'forget Republican and Democrat, vote Independent! The Browncoats will rise again' and has the Independents' flag from Firefly); two shirts (one is a simple 'VOTE SAXON [X]' shirt, the other has a pair of 3D glasses and the line, "I'd call you genius, except I'm in the room"); a bunch of DW action figures (Captain Jack, Rose and K-9, Mickey, Ten & a Dalek & a Cyberman); and a sonic screwdriver pen with "psychic" paper.

Yes, I'm a geek. We knew this already! I mean, I have the Library of Congress call number for forensic anthropology written on my arm, what else am I gonna be? Just be glad that my mom talked me out of getting the TARDIS rolling backpack. Well, that WOULD be one way of letting people know where I stand, I suppose...

Oh, and on that note, how likely do you think it would be for me to be able to create a geek club for Metro? We only need, like, four people! Any of yous who go to Metro/know people who go to Metro, spread the word! I want a Geek Club.

Skins - best friend

ZOMG RL LOLOLOLOLZ!!!!

Okay, story of teh weekend: Saturday I went over to Julio's, where we watched Fight Club and hollered, "You are NOT YOUR FUCKING KHAKIS!" a few too many times. Then we looked at some Doctor Who macros, and then her family came back so we headed back over to my house.

As soon as we got here, I set up my laptop and started downloading the latest Doctor Who while we played Singstar in battle mode. (After watching Jeopardy, where Final Jeopardy was a question about rugby and I sort of spazzed out.) Julia won most of the time, but I beat her on Good Charlotte's "Boys & Girls", the Gorillaz's "Feel Good Inc", and the Fray's "Over My Head (Cable Car)". That last one? I did totally awesome on. Me and Julia decided it was because they're from Colorado, and therefore we have similar voices. Or something. Because I did awesome on that song. We also sang James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" in ridiculously high-pitched voices.

Anyway, once it finished downloading, we sat down to watch it. This took about two and a half hours, because we had to pause here and there to watch the Soup and the Soup Presents the Best of the Worst Dating Show Moments. And then we had to keep pausing and rewinding the episode itself because we kept squeeing over various moments and missing some stuff.

After that, we pretty much went to sleep. Or, well, Julia did. I stayed up an hour or so more to write moar mpreg.

In the morning, we sat around eating breakfast and watching Spongebob. We realized after a while that it was kind of disturbing that we were quoting, in unison, about half of each episode. (Like, episode title pops up, Julia goes, "I love this episode!" And I go, "YELLOW!", and she goes, "PINK!")

It took a while, but we eventually got bored of Spongebob and set up my Wii. We then played Wii Sports and WarioWare, and had massive fun, although I managed to pull a tendon in my arm.

So, today I went to class. Where we watched a cool video. And also found out that we've got our first Cultural Anthro exam (worth a third of our grade) on Wednesday. AIIIE! Ahem. I also have a math problem due tomorrow, and a huge packet due for geography on... Thursday? Next Tuesday (as in, not tomorrow)? I cannae remember!

Oh well. I'll do the math during geography and I'll do the geography eventually. For now, I must play Sims 2 while watching Fairly Oddparents and waiting for me mum to return with a French Dip sandwich for me!

TW - random shoes

I love Wiki.

Okay, so. I was randomly wiki-surfing today, and I found out that this old local band I'd voted for during battle of the bands my freshman year had renamed itself and become Fear Before the March of Flames (which I've actually vaguely heard of). So I, in a fit of shock, decided to check out info on them.

I found out that they have a song entitled, "Taking Cassandra to the End of the World Party". And I gotta say, if that's NOT a Doctor Who reference, it's a totally weird coincidence.

You know, I've got some (way crappy) footage of a student-band festival thing at Smoky. I wonder if it's them on it. I should look...

HP - party

Geekiness ahoy!

So I'm watching Robot Chicken. And one of the little skits has this little boy doing a show-and-tell thing at school, holding a little blue police box. And he goes "TARDIS stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space-" and this guy bursts in through the door and goes, "NEEEEERD!"

In other news, Torchwood? So awesome. And I don't care what everybody else says, I love Owen. And yes, I came to this conclusion BEFORE he got nekkid, thank-you-very-much.

Oh, and tomorrow (or later today, rather) I've got the NaNoWriMo kickoff for Denver (the first one, anyway), and on Wednesday? Yup, job interview for Toys R Us. I just submitted the app yesterday! Awesome. I could be getting an income soon!

(PS: I have gone through screencaps of both TW episodes, have culled all the Owen, Ianto, and Rhys screencaps, and shall likely be making a moodtheme of them. 'Cause I'm cool like that.)

DA - whatever!

Home, home on the range...

FINALLY back home! Party ON, yo! It's great to see my puppy dog again.

Tomorrow's schedule is clear, except for a chiropractor appointment, so I'll hopefully be online most of tomorrow - and working on posts/profiles/etc for WHAT. Or, um, reading X-Men fics. What can I say? Seeing the movie a while back made me suddenly want to read the comics, and I found an X-Factor comic starring Jamie Madrox, so I got this big collection of X-Factor comics, plus I went and got the House of M and Decimation collections. Because, hello. Important much?

(For those who are new, I have a massive adoration of Jamie Madrox aka Multiple Man. Have since I was first introduced to him. Sad to say, but that was via X-Men: Evolution. I thought, "Hm. Duplicating yourself. That would be an AWESOME power." So I hopped online, found out more about him, and voila - I had a new obsession. In terms of Evoverse - and, well, everything - it was probably not the best move, since previously my faves were Cyclops and Quicksilver, and they've got a little bit more comic appearences than Madrox does. But hey, whatev!)

For now, though, I need SLEEP. I stayed up late last night, working on my Common Application on the website, and then I couldn't get much more sleep during the day, because I drove from the Kansas-Colorado border all the way back home. By the way, going from a highway where you can creep over 90mph to streets where you can't even go the speed limit of 40mph? It's like crawling, dude. Srsly. I thought I was going to scream.

EDIT: Oh, and I changed the title and friend's page title for my LJ. The first to "What's a horse doing on a spaceship?" and the latter to "What's the twin planet of Raxacoricofallapatorius?" "Clom."

Some memes, and Doctor Who ramblings

Nice day of driving today! I slept literally the whole way. Heh. We're in Ohio right now, at a Holiday Inn with glorious high-speed Internet. I've also, awesomely enough, now watched all of season two of Doctor Who. And it was brilliant. Spoilers up through 2.13  ) We also did a few voice recordings, including one of me, Kari, and two of her friends each going "Are you my mummy?", ala "The Empty Child". Also, all of us saying "Exterminate!", overlayed with a nice echo.

As Minerva McGonagall, your strict facade is complimented by a warm heart, and you always do what is for the greater good.

NOTE: Need to get Doctor Who icons.

DA - whatever!

Ramblings and quotes and whoa, head rush dude

My heels are itching. I've never been confined to one planet this long - at least not without some plan hatching - and I worry it's starting to contaminate me. I saw a poster in a travel agent's window this morning and caught myself thinking Australia looked interesting. Very bad sign.

- From the Doctor Who book Only Human, by Gareth Roberts.

I'm totally watching that one episode of Ned's Declassified where Gordy burns stuff and laughs maniacally. LOVE this episode, dude. And now, for your viewing pleasure, quotes from my perfectly bizarre family:

Mom: "Well, Aunt Karen has a ten o'clock appointment with her misogynist." Pause. "Massuse."

Mom: "My du-rag undid."

Rebecca: "If this rubberband breaks, I will not have it. That would not be good. This rubberband's name is Kyle Jameson."

Rachel (who is also, yes, blonde): "Are you a Controller?" (This one's for the Animorphs fans out there.)

Me and my mum are going to go see the Devil Wears Prada later tonight, and pick up my Diadem books. I will probably go into a light book-coma for the next day or so, thanks to having the last four books in a series I thought only had six in the first place. I also realized that Diadem probably had as much of an effect on me as the Mindwarp series had, although in a subtler way - there wasn't any real clear cut way to it, unlike Mindwarp where I was just waiting to turn thirteen to see if I had silver blood (yes, seriously). But it definitely made me think of other realities/dimensions and the like. And despite the lack of any real time travel (um, that I remember), it sort of reminds me of Doctor Who and oh God, I'm not seriously contemplating a Diadem/Doctor Who crossover, am I? That'd get even less readers than the Doctor Who/21 Jump Street fic I'm planning!

Aaaand I'm rambling. Which I will stop, right now.

HP - party

Yet more rambling about Doctor Who, with a side trip to an unmistakebly American show.

Random: Anybody got any nice, long Doctor Who fics to rec? Nine or Ten only, right now, since I'm trying to get all caught up on them before I go after the other eight. Jack in it would be preferable, but hey. Whatev.

Also, I adore the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia commercial that parodies the Friends opening. Hi-freakin'-larious, dudes.

(PS: In less than half an hour, I will have all installments of the new series of Doctor Who. Tomorrow, my two ordered Nine (w/Jack) books arrive. I am ridiculously excited. Also, "Tooth and Claw" is scary as hell and do not watch it with your younger cousin alone in the house at 2AM.)
