I may have just put together a document with every mention of Zacharias Smith in the last three HP books. Just, uh, so you know.

So I've been planning a HP fic where a slightly AU next gen group (along with Harry) winds up in canon timeline MWPP era. I've decided that the key to hilarity is for every single damn character to be connected to each other about fifty ways, which is surprisingly easy given, well, the Weasley family. ( Babbling about my idea. )

So, long story... well, shorter, I now have a character list of almost twenty ridiculously connected next-gen kids. Part of me is thinking, Hm, this might be better off as a RPG. On the other hand, who would want to play something as cracked out as this, I ask you?

Maybe I should make a next-gen/MWPP time travel (and/or AU travel) RPG with vaguer terms? In that case, should I make it 'a group of next-gen comes to MWPP', 'a group of MWPP comes to next-gen', or 'people randomly shift in and out of time in a confusing manner'? I think the third idea is the most interesting, but the second is most do-able. Eh, whatevs. Maybe I'll get bored and do a poll in a bit.

So I totally broke one of the legs off of my glasses this morning. Yeah, I'm wandering about with my glasses half dangling from my face. It's pretty hilarious, I won't lie. Though it's also a bit annoying to have them fall off of my head every time I lean over - I'm thinking that if I'm in a toddler room tomorrow morning, I'm gonna have to tape them to my head. (I was in an upper preschool room today, so it didn't matter too much.)

Aaaanywho, I may or may not be developing a shiny new idea of magical North America for the HP world. Blame my history class, because I've decided that there's no reason why wizarding governments in the "New World" should follow current political country lines. So instead, Florida is actually a colony under command of the Spanish version of the Ministry; Louisiana is a department of France's Ministry; the territory east of the Mississippi that was ceded after the French & Indian War, plus the 13 original colonies, are under command of the United States Wizarding Congress; southern reaches of California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas thru Mexico, Central America, and northern parts of South America are part of the Independent Wizard Council of Mesoamerica.

The rest of the USA, and all of Canada? The Free Republic of Magic! Most of the international wizarding world regards the FRM as little more than... well, like we thought of Jonestown. Yeah, it's considered a cross of a cult and no man's land. The government of the FRM is located in Montana (no expects it to be there!), and the school (known as Central Academy) is in Yukon Territory. Because of their constantly contested status, the Central Academy of the FRM is mostly for finding future soldiers and scientists, who will go to either the Central Defense Institute (located in the Hudson Bay), or the Central Research Institute (on one of the Aleutian islands).

...on that note, I will not inform you of how I'm planning on having Auror!Harry and Auror!Ron and mebbe some others try and infiltrate the FRM, because of threats made against Hogwarts. Yeah... Instead, I'll go to bed.

Okay, this is ridiculous. I got, like, tons of sleep last night, and I'm still all drifty-whoo.

Anyway! A listing of homeowkr I plan to do over the weekend, as I've nothing else to do with my time:
- finish geography report
- about fifty pages of Spanish work (check assignment sheet)
- one page essay in re: discussion group
- read Wealth of Nations
- read War & Peace

In good news, last time I checked (i.e. three hours before the center closed), I'm only scheduled 4-6 tomorrow, and in 108 again (I was in 108 today and Tuesday, and am also scheduled next Tues, Thurs, and Fri at the same times as this week). The kids in there, much like the kids in all the rooms, are crazy but adorable. My buddies in there are Brynn and Nick, and I'm thinking Attison as well, but only because he is so much like Damien, my best friend when I was that age (who is now a Marine, wtfbbq?!).

Oh, and between the various Harry Potter games I have, I've figured out that my initial thoughts regarding Hogwarts subjects and me are correct: I would rock History of Magic and Potions, would be good but not ace in Transfigurations and Charms, and would suck worse than imaginable in Astronomy and Divination. (All other subjects are variable.)

And it is highly possible that I care a bit too much. Ahem. Also, I may have been lured to the Draco/Ginny side again. Not as a primary ship, mind you, but because Draco/Harry is becoming too predictable right now and there is very little Draco/Ron.

So I just found a decent-looking second gen RPG where they have Rob Morrow as HP, Damien Lewis as Ron, and Sean Murray as Neville. I'm sooo joining, dude. Because those = perfection.

(However, I play guys pretty exclusively, and the only son of Zacharias Smith - and Pansy, which is oddly awesome - is taken, so I think I shall create a newbie... child of Marcus Flint, perhaps? So that way I can bitch-slap anyone who attempts to play Marcus Flint with Jonathan Rhys Meyers or whomever, because really.)

A review mah fren Julio got for her fic Blind Faith: I have to say I find this offensive. I know several blind people and I feel that I need to stand up for them. These jokes aren't funny they're mean.

Her response: I know how you feel! I know several dark wizards, and I find their depiction in the Harry Potter books offensive.

But neither of us can play instruments. Or read/write music. Or rhyme, intentionally. But hey, we managed to write one song! It started off as a parody of a New Kids on the Block song, but then we got bored and just wrote the rest ignoring the original song.

Oh, yes, we decided upon New Kid in the House for our name. Songs from Colin Creevey's POV! So here's our one and only song (we did think up the title, "Harry, I Believe in You", but no lyrics):

Other names we considered: The Sorcerer's Stoned, the Zacharias Smith Experience, the Unforgivables, Barenaked Badgers, Rita Skeeter and the Prophet (ala Huey Lewis and the News), Backalley Badgers, the Swish and Flick, the Nearly Headless 5, and N*Sink - the Moaning Myrtle Band. We also came up with an idea of a parody of "I'm Too Sexy", in which it goes, "I'm too magic for my wand", etc.

Okay, no really. I sry. But my stomach DOES hurt, and I can't tell if it's hunger or just the normal stomachaches I get because I'm a loser like that. Seriously, I missed probably at least half of middle school because of stomaches and headaches. What can I say, my trade-off for never breaking a bone or having debilitating illnesses or hospital visits is to bruise easily and get minor sicknesses reeeeal easy. Hey, it works for me!

...I decided I was a lil hungry, so I grabbed a bag of Frosted Wheat. Mmm. Delicious and nutritious, tastes just like chicken! Only... not any of that. Well, it's pretty delicious. But very dry. I think I might go make me some mashed potatoes during commercial break! (Am watching Family Guy.)

Kay, so.

...I don't actually have anything to say. I stopped at King Soopers, got me some more groceries (read: microwave pizzas and Gogurts), and I had class today, and... that's it. Oh! My dad's off on some work trip or another, so I'm home alone until noonish Thursday! Hooray! I can even sleep in my parents' bed, which is v. v. comfy and has a TV! Er, the room. Not the bed. That would be awesome, though.

I have this burning urge to join a Hogwarts: Next Gen RPG, but THERE IS NONE. GRAR. For some reason, DH has just inspired people to start new MWPP games, and maybe a few Trio-era. But no Next-Gen!

*whines and generally carries on*
