MST3K - fish

NSLC

Leaving in about nine hours for National Student Leadership Conference, Law & Advocacy. I'm partially excited, and partially worried that it's going to be totally clique-ish and I'm going to find no one who loves Law & Order. Weird worries, but there ya go.

I should at least find folks to hang with, with some similar interests, like I did at GW. It might be a bit odd if I found people with the exact same interests as mine. Eerie, even.

I'm kind of excited about learning more about law. Unlike forensic science, which I've covered most of the surface of through my vast collection of books on the subject, most of my experience with law is from most of one semester of Business Law and many watchings of Law & Order. So I'll hopefully learn tons of stuff.

And... oh, Pammy! Can you email me with your address? I want to send you a postcard from D.C. and the hard drive on which I saved your address got erased.

(And if you people ever come across a book entitled "Percy Jackson & the Olympians #1: The Lightning Thief", read it. It's awesome. I almost want to make a RPG based off of Half-Blood Camp.)

Guess what guess what guess what!

AU's got wireless 'net in the dorms!

Man, I'm never gonna go to sleep now, am I? NOPE!

I've basically got free time until 1700 right now, since that's when dinner is. A dinner for which I must dress PROFESSIONALLY. Why? Because immediately after dinner, we have the Opening Ceremony for which professionalism is required. REQUIRED, I SAY!

Check in, after everything, isn't until 2315, a whole 15 minutes later than at GW! And the best part is, we've actually got stuff to do until then.

My roomie hasn't arrived yet, but registration's not over until... 1600, I believe. So she's got time. But dudes, this stuff is so cool! We got a binder, in which is our schedule, a student guide (with general rules, maps, code of conduct, etc), and then the fun stuff: Law & Advocacy case file (the People v. Edward Johns), L&A Criminal Trial Advocacy Handbook, and National Student Leadership Conference Leadership Handbook. Looks like fuuuuuun.

(For those of you who don't know me, this is basically me being antsy to do something, go somewhere, meet someone, and hoping my roommate isn't some peppy blonde girl who already knows everybody here.)

Oh, and I have to carry my key with me everywhere. Because my door doesn't stay unlocked. Haha.

Ramblings near midnight

Should go to sleep. Must get up at 630 tomorrow. Is 2327. Hm... Sleep good.

Also, new friends! Franci, Luis (but we call him Thelma), Fernando, Dave, Megan, Annie, and the girl whose name I forgot... Christina, maybe? And my roomie, Ariel, is cool. Looks like fun, people, looks like fun!

Now goodnight, and don't make me sing that stupid Sounds of Music song. I've got a two-hour bus ride tomorrow to Richmond, then the same back. FUN! F is for friends who do stuff together, U is for you and me! N is for aNywhere and aNytime at all, down here in the deep blue sea!
